Evaporating drawing oil
Evaporating drawing oil
Sheet metal blanking, punching, stamping and drawing forming fluid
Sheet metal blanking is a high-volume cold shearing process where a punch presses sheet metal into a die to cut a specific, reusable shape (the „blank”). This precise, fast method produces clean edges in one stroke, commonly used for aluminum, steel, and brass, usually in 0.5mm to 5mm thicknesses.
Blanking is widely used for producing washers, gear components, automotive parts, and electronic components. It is also used in manufacturing industries to prepare components for further processing like bending or deep drawing.

Lubrication in sheet metal blanking is crucial for reducing friction, minimizing tool wear, and preventing heat buildup, especially in fine-blanking where high-pressure shearing occurs. Proper lubrication extends tool life, enhances surface quality, and prevents material sticking. It is commonly applied via roller systems, spray, or drip methods, requiring uniform coverage for optimal results.
Analysis of the tribochemical properties of the lubricant additives and the base oil can therefore give valuable information of the lubricant behavior in forming processes. Important properties include thermal stability, volatility and the tribological nature of the film forming additives in the lubricant

Fine blanking stands out in this context as a metal forming technique that has opened new horizons, offering solutions that meet rising demands for precision and quality.
However, behind the apparent simplicity of this process lies a complex interplay of factors—one of the most critical being lubrication.
EVAPORATIVE Lubricant for stamping and drawing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
Evaporative lubricant for lamination stamping, fin stamping, and can lid stamping
Molylub EvaDraw series excellent high-speed stamping lubricants are based on low-viscosity, highly thermal resistant synthetic SHC / POE oils and odorless safety solvents, ideal for light- to medium-duty metalworking operations utilizing even the most sensitive metals. Manufactured components will dry quickly as the solvent evaporates, leaving behind a thin, imperceptible film, providing excellent short-term, in-process rust protection.
Molylub EvaDraw series drawing oils are designed and introduced to the manufacturing industry to improve the efficiency of the forming of ferrous and non-ferrous parts, whilst permitting effective removal by means of evaporation processes. They are very versatile fluids that can be easily tailored to meet the specific lubricity requirements of the metal forming operation whilst, in many cases, eliminating the need for additional cleaning processes prior to further operations.
Fince blanking forming oil
In the context of fine blanking, lubrication plays a fundamental role for several reasons. First, during this high-precision shearing process, the forces involved are significantly greater than in conventional methods. This generates a considerable increase in temperature in the cutting zone, which can compromise both the quality of the part and the lifespan of the tools.
Blanking processes exhibit severe tribological conditions, where insufficient lubricant quality leads to heavy pick-up of workpiece material on the punch resulting in poor surface quality, reduced dimensional accuracy and a shortened tool life. Hazardous lubricants are therefore often used in order to facilitate stable production conditions. For minimization of the use of hazardous lubricants, the present study aims to evaluate the primary lubricant properties needed to ensure proper lubrication in punching and blanking processes, for assessment of the applicability of alternative environmentally benign lubricants.
Molylub DrawOil ALU3 is suitable for blanking of stainless steel sheets and for small deep drawing of stainless steel strips, when it is very important to avoid cleaning process of stamped works. Molylub DrawOil ALU3 enables obtaining excellent surface finishing of shearing section profile Molylub DrawOil ALU3 use needs some practical devices: the gap between lubrication roller and oil scraper must be not less than coil thickness and it must guarantee an uniform moistening in both side of the coil.During the dies maintenance stop, it is indispensable put again the product on the superior coil side and between oil scraper and drawing die: obviously this operation must be done daily at work start up.
Evanishing blanking fluid
The particular chemical composition of evanishing fluid require VITON gaskets in electro valves in contact with the lubricant, to avoid deformations that can compromise the good working. It is important that the oil scraper and lubrication roller bearings, put inside the lubrication tank, must be “for life” lubrication type or double seal type.
Molylub DrawOil ALU3 is a friendly, transparent, pale colour, odourless, chlorine free evanishing fluid, suitable for magnetic sheet blanking. Molylub DrawOil ALU3 doesn’t form aldehydes and it has a very low enviromental impact. The use of Molylub DrawOil ALU3 allows to avoid the drawing blanking works cleaning, it increases die and punch life, it eliminates seizing up, it assures less down time machine, it performes cleaned worked sheets without any kind of washing operations, it increases dies and punches cleaningtime.
