Perfluoropolyethers (PFPE) lubrication

Perfluoropolyethers are synthetic polymers derived from fluor alkylation of olefins, giving the molecules a long and stable chain of fluorine atoms. These molecules are extremely stable and resistant to high temperatures, oxidation and corrosion, and have low volitivity. Perfluoropolyether (PFPE) base oils are synthetic, fully fluorinated lubricants used in industrial applications requiring extreme performance, such as high temperatures, cryogenic temperatures, high vacuums, and contact with aggressive chemicals. Due to their chemically inert, non-flammable, and non-toxic properties, they are frequently used as „sealed-for-life” lubricants where maintenance is impossible.
